Jatau and Balarabe’s Legislative Connection
Jatau succeeded Balarabe Abdullahi as Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly.
Balarabe led the legislature for about eight and a half years, serving across the Fifth and Sixth Assemblies and part of the Seventh Assembly from 2015 to 2023.
Jatau, meanwhile, is a three-term legislator representing Kokona West State Constituency.
Before entering the State Assembly leadership, Jatau served as Speaker of the Kokona Local Government Legislative Council and Chairman of Agwada Development Area.
He also held other political positions, including serving as Special Assistant to a former Deputy Governor and former Minister.
2027 Politics in Focus
The meeting comes as political activities ahead of the 2027 elections continue to gather momentum in Nasarawa State.
Both men are prominent political figures from the Western Zone, with Jatau representing Kokona and Balarabe Abdullahi associated with Toto Local Government Area.

Although the exact details of their discussion remain private, the focus on the Assembly, state development and political issues has generated interest among political stakeholders.
Sources said the meeting was significant given the changing political landscape and the need for continued engagement among senior political actors.
The latest engagement also reportedly comes about six weeks after Balarabe Abdullahi met with former Speaker Dr. Musa Ahmed Muhammed, now the State Accountant General.
As political consultations intensify, meetings involving current and former Assembly leaders are expected to attract increasing attention across Nasarawa State.
