Education financing, household welfare and women empowerment have featured prominently in grassroots conversations among women mobilising for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The APC Presidential Campaign Council’s women mobilisation directorate, led by Dr Betta Edu, has been conducting engagements with women across different states as part of the party’s preparations for the 2027 presidential election.
The mobilisation has been linked to a target of 40 million women votes, with organisers seeking to build community-level structures around Nigeria’s 176,846 polling units.

INEC confirms that Nigeria has 176,846 polling units nationwide.
One of the issues being highlighted by APC supporters is the Nigeria Education Loan Fund.
NELFUND’s official terms state that approved student loans may cover institutional fees and upkeep, depending on the verified loan package.
The programme is therefore being presented by campaign organisers as one of the policies that can reduce the immediate financial burden associated with tertiary education for eligible beneficiaries.
Women supporters have also cited empowerment programmes associated with the Renewed Hope Initiative of First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
Across communities, the mobilisation reportedly involves meetings where women discuss political participation, household concerns and ways of communicating government programmes to residents.
Reports have emerged from parts of Jigawa, Kano, Zamfara and Kwara, as well as several southern states.
The mobilisation is part of wider political preparations for the 2027 election, with INEC currently listing January 16, 2027, for the presidential and National Assembly elections.
The APC women’s structure says continued grassroots engagement will remain central to its campaign strategy.
